Planning a Weekend Train Trip

A Simple Weekend Plan

Maya and Ben want to visit River Town for a weekend. They both finish work at five on Friday, so they cannot take the afternoon train. The evening train leaves at 6:40 and arrives at 8:10. It is slower than the express train, but the tickets are cheaper.

They choose a small hotel near the station. The hotel costs 260 yuan for one night and includes breakfast. A cheaper guesthouse is farther from the town center, so they decide that the hotel will save time.

On Saturday morning, they plan to walk along the river and visit the local history museum. In the afternoon, they will take a bus to Hill Park. If the weather is rainy, they will stay in town and join a cooking class instead.

Their return train leaves at 4:30 on Sunday. Maya creates a short checklist: train tickets, hotel booking, identity cards, comfortable shoes, and a light jacket. Ben checks the total cost. They agree to book everything on Wednesday because weekend tickets often sell quickly.
